The name "EL ELYON" meaning "GOD MOST HIGH" originates from Genesis 14:18-20, where Melchizedek, the King of Salem, serves as the priest. Abraham also invokes "EL ELYON" in an oath to the king of Sodom in verse 22. The term translates to “The Most Exalted God” (Psalm 57:2) and is a revered epithet for the God of the Israelites in the Hebrew Bible. In English, it is commonly rendered as “God Most High.”

El Elyon Institute, also known as EEI, was founded on February 8, 2019, by Mr. Sainkupar Syngkli, along with co-founding members Ms. Eva Sweety Kharjana, Ms. Darihun Lyngdoh, and Mr. Aibor Shadap. The institute aims to serve the under-privileged people of Ri-Bhoi District and Meghalaya by promoting human resources.
